LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- Three men forced their way into a Lawrence home shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, holding three people at gunpoint while they robbed the home, according to the Lawrence Police Dept. During a struggle over a laptop computer, a gun fired - hitting no one.

The suspects kicked down the door of the home, in the 100 block of East 19th, around 12:45 a.m. and burst in wearing hooded sweatshirts and with their faces covered, according to police. They reportedly demanded cash, drugs, and other property and made off with a cellular phone, cash, drugs, and a 42" inch flat screen television.

Lawrence police noted that Tuesday's robbery mirrored one late Saturday night. In that one, four people were in an apartment in the 1400 block of Coventry Manor when three men broke in through an unlocked sliding glass door. The suspects faces were covered and two of them were armed in that robbery as well. They took cash and a laptop computer in that incident.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call the Lawrence Police Department at 785-832-7509 or CrimeStoppers at 785-843-TIPS(8477). Callers to CrimeStoppers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest.
