TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- The head of Seneca's police department announced he will soon be trying his luck at a new position.

Seneca Chief of Police Brent Schulte announced last week that he will be resigning from the department. Schulte says that he has accepted a position with the Kansas Lottery as an investigator.

Schulte has been chief of police for the past nine years. He previously worked for 16 years in the Topeka Police Department.

He says that now since his kids are out of school that it was time to look for other options.

His last day on the job will be Sept. 25.
