Preliminary Hearings Set In Kidnapping Case

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A preliminary hearing has been set for the people charged with kidnapping a Topeka girl.

A preliminary hearing for Jeremy Lindsey has been set for December 1. Lindsey faces three counts of rape along with aggravated counted of kidnapping, burglary, battery and child endangerment. He also faces charges of criminal damage to property and unlawful administration of a substance.

The criminal complaint alleges Lindsey gave the 8-year-old girl tramadol, which medical sites describes as a narcotic intended for people who need round the clock control of moderately severe pain.

A second suspect, Michelle Harris, faces single counts of rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated child endangerment. Her preliminary hearing is set for December 10.

Family members discovered the 8-year-old girl missing from her southeast Topeka home when they woke up.

She was found six hours later walking in a neighborhood two miles away. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
