OVERBROOK, Kan. (WIBW) -- Overbrook police say an Overbrook woman shot an intruder who broke into her home early Thursday morning.

Police Chief Terry Hollingsworth said, shortly after 12:30 a.m., Osage 911 received two calls within minutes. The first was from the resident who told them she shot someone who broke into her home.

Five minutes later, 48-year-old Bruce Jolly reportedly called 911 and said he had been shot and was at a neighbor's house. Emergency crews took him to Stormont-Vail Hospital.

Police searched both Jolly's home and the home where the shooting took place. The case was then turned over to the Osage Co. Attorney for formal charges against Jolly, Hollingsworth said.

The woman who allegedly shot Jolly was not hurt in the incident Hollingsworth said, adding that he doesn't plan on releasing her name.
