TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A beautiful Friday evening for walking brought hundreds out to help Midland Care Hospice.
Bands set up in the grass on several spots along Frazier Circle on the Midland Care Campus.
The Celebration Walk is their major effort to continue providing hospice services to people in northeast Kansas. 13 NEWS' Jim Ogle served as the Honorary Chairman this year.
After sunset, monarch butterflies were released and luminaries were lighted as families remembered their loved ones in the special memorial walk.
"This event tonight is our main fundraiser for the year and it's the way we ensure that anyone that comes to us anytime, now or in the future, we will be able to serve them whether they have the money to pay," said Mike Dunnaway, who serves on the Midland Care Board of Directors.
Midland Care provides their care to anyone asking for it, regardless of
their ability to pay.
