Man Charged With Felony Murder In Weekend Accident

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Topeka man has been charged with felony murder after a weekend car crash.

33 year-old Kody Shane Godfrey faces charges of first degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for this wreck Saturday afternoon.

Police say Godfrey was fleeing a traffic stop when he collided with 3 cars in the intersection of 10th and MacVicar.

22 year-old Jordan Dodgen of Shawnee, died Sunday afternoon from injuries in the wreck.

Godfrey was also injured in the accident and remains in the hospital.

Judge Steven Ebberts has also issued an arrest warrant and set Godfrey's bond at $1,000,000.
