Local woman says decomposing odor is taking over her neighborhood

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A local homeowner says she can't escape a foul odor coming from a neighbor's home in SW Topeka.

580 WIBW Radio reports, Kim Boyd says the odor's been around ever since a decomposing body was removed from the house next door to her in the 1200 block of SW 25th.

Eric Ross, 56, was found dead August 2nd, police list it as an unattended death.

Lt. Colleen Stuart told AM 580 it's the responsibility of the family to take care of the home.

Boyd says the smell is so bad, her son won't go outside and play.

The radio station notified the city about the odor complaint, but did not receive a response.
