TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A Kansas man is attempting to set a world record on Saturday, doing something most people probably don't enjoy.
55-year-old Tim Kanicki had 12 hours to complete over 4,210 pull-ups and beat the Guinness World Record.
Kanicki is doing this to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Topeka Relay for Life. He says he's inspired by his father.
"I lost my dad from cancer. My dad is the one that keeps me going because he was always proud of me and I want to make him proud of me again," explain Kanicki.
Kanicki came up short -- completing only 2,007 pull-ups.
Despite his shortcomings, he was still able to raise more than $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
