HOLTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- The man known as "Papa Smurf" who topped the Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Most Wanted list was captured on Wednesday, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Fifty-nine year-old Jerry Dean Curlee was caught in Kansas City, Missouri, he said. His detectives were there earlier in the week trying to find Curlee. On Wednesday, they teamed up with U.S. Marshals to bring him into custody.

Curlee had been out on bond for a felony DUI case and wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, Morse said. He allegedly took off the tracking device and took flight.

Morse said he expects more charges will be filed.
