MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Manhattan lottery winner is nearly a half-million dollars richer. The unidentified player won $494,262 by matching all the Super Kansas Cash numbers in the April 28 drawing on his $3 ticket.

He had played his own numbers, the lottery noted - and the winner, who wished to remain anonymous, definitely had a plan.

“I’ve always picked my own numbers when playing Super Kansas Cash,” said the winner. “For years, I used to pick my own numbers using family members’ birthdates. Now I look at the frequency charts on the Lottery’s website to see how often each number has been drawn before I play. My strategy has paid off!”

He didn't even know he had won until the next morning when drinking coffee and watching television.

“I was watching TV when the winning numbers came up on the morning news,” said the winner. “I was in a state of disbelief when I realized I had won the jackpot. I couldn’t quit smiling and laughing."

"When I called my wife at work, I asked her if she was sitting down because I had some big news. She was as shocked as I was when I told her we had hit a jackpot,” he continued.

The winner and his family plan to use their new found fortune to buy a new vehicle, take a vacation, and share some with their family.

The winning ticket was sold at the Shop Quik 12. They'll get a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers were 16-22-26-30-32 Cash Ball 09
