Hundreds Stopped During Sobriety Checkpoint In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - 345 vehicles were stopped during a sobriety checkpoint in Manhattan this weekend.

The Riley County Police Department conducted the checkpoint between midnight and 2:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Bluemont Avenue.

Of those stops five people were arrested for driving under the influence, 19 others were evaluated for impaired driving.

One person was cited for minor in consumption of alcohol, two people were cited for transporting an open container of alcohol, and one other was cited for possession of a controlled substance.

The Kansas Highway Patrol helped conduct the check lane.
