Home Invasion In East Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Topeka police confirmed a report of a home invasion at an East Topeka home early Thursday morning.

The Topeka Police Department says that around 12:30 a.m. a man flagged down an officer and told him that another man just invaded his home at 1135 Southeast Highland.

The man said that he and his friends were watching TV when a man came into the house unannounced.

He said that the man fired one shot into the floor, stole items from inside and ran away. Police say that nobody was injured.

They describe the suspect as either a White or Hispanic male in dark clothing with a black and red bandana over his face and armed with an unknown type of handgun.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask that anyone with information is asked to contact Topeka Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
