TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Officials are searching for the man who led authorities on a multicounty high-speed chase earlier Friday morning.

Wabaunsee County Sheriff Doug Howser said authorities from the Wamego and St. Mary's Police Departments were involved in a vehicle chase this morning.

Howser said it started when an officer from the Wamego Police Department located a stolen vehicle in the Wamego industrial park.

The suspect was able to elude authorities and the Maple Hill School District went on lockdown after a Wabaunsee County Sheriff's deputy located the car involved in the chase abandoned in the town of Maple Hill.

The driver is listed as 'still at large' and is described as a heavy set white male with a bald head and bushy goatee.

If you have any information on the chase, you're asked to call the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office at 877-260-1902.
