TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) Topeka police officials have told 13 NEWS that the early Monday morning shooting that sent one to a hospital was the result of an attempted home break-in.
Officials said that a suspect, identified as Allan Turner, attempted to enter the home at 2516 SW Bradbury.
After Turner "gained entry" he was shot by the home owner.
Turner was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and was described as being in stable condition.
Officials told 13 NEWS that they believe the suspect first tried to enter a home at 2503 S Kansas avenue, failed in the attempt and then went to the Bradbury location.
The shooting was reported around 4:40 a.m. Monday morning.
