Don't miss this fantastic a cappella version of Beyonce's Pretty Hurts

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- One of James Madison University's nine a cappella groups is getting national attention.

Note-oriety's most recent music video, a cover of Beyoncé's "Pretty Hurts," encourages people to look deeper than society's view of perfection.

The music video, directed by JMU alumnus David Bittner has gone viral. It already has more than 72,000 views and was featured on the cover of Buzzfeed.

Music supervisor and featured soloist Zoe Elizabeth McCray said she's thrilled with all of the positive feedback.

"Complete shock and disbelief. Our most-viewed video up until that point was 2,000 views in total. And I was like, okay, cool, if we can get 5,000 views by the summer, that would be really really cool. And we ended up getting 5,000 on the first day," said McCray.

McCray says that Queen B herself has not responded to the group's success, but the group is holding out hope they'll hear from her.

For any students interested in joining JMU's a cappella community, auditions are September 19 and 20.

A mandatory meeting will be held at Grafton-Stovall Theatre at 10 a.m. on both days.
