TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A Horseshoe Pitching Championship will be taking place in the Capital City for the first time in more than 100 years.
Monday, many Kansans were inside Fairlawn Plaza Mall practicing their horseshoe pitching skills.
The World Horse Pitching Championship will be in Topeka this summer. This will be Kansas' second World Horseshoe Tournament. The last time the Horseshoe Tournament took place in the Capital City was in 1909.
Topeka was chosen as the host city over Charleston, West Virginia and Wichita Falls, Texas.
The practice session Monday was free. Tournaments are open to all skill levels and have a $10 entry fee for adults.
