TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A brief, high-speed car chase ended when the suspect's car crashed onto the front lawn of a Topeka home.

The Topeka Police Dept. says a community police officer tried to stop the car for allegedly running a stop sign. The suspect refused to pull over and took off. The officer lost track of the car after a couple blocks.

Minutes later, the officer came upon the crash scene at NE Seward and Lake. The car had crashed through a fence stopping in the yard.

No one was hurt.

Police say the driver initially ran off, but returned and was taken into custody, along with a passenger. Both suspects were juveniles, police noted.
