MONROE, Mich. (CBS) -- A mother of three is being investigated after she left her sons -- ages 2, 4 and 6 -- in a car on a 30-degree day while she took care of some financial paperwork inside a public library, reports CBS Detroit.
While the kids were in the car Monday, her 6-year-old called 911.
"My mom's being mean to us!," the boy told the dispatcher.
Dispatcher: "Where are you at? What address?"
Boy: "At the library."
Dispatcher: "You're at the library?"
Monroe police reportedly responded to the Dorsch Memorial Library, escorting the boys back inside the library where they were eventually released back into their mother's custody.
The 25-year-old woman told police the kids wouldn't stop running around. She reportedly said she took them back to the car so she could finish up.
The incident has been forwarded to Child Protective Services for possible unattended child and/or child abuse charges.
The woman's name has not been released.
