Professor Pleads Guilty to Stalking

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ A Kansas State University faculty member
pleads no contest to one count of felony stalking.
Psychology professor John Uhlarik was scheduled to face multiple
stalking charges and drug charges in a trial that would have
started this week. But he entered the guilty plea to a single count
Friday.
He was accused of following and harassing former K-State athlete
Gwen Wentland over a five-year period. Wentland was granted a
protection from abuse order in 2001 and a protection from stalking
order in 2003.
The two ended a relationship in 2000. Court records show Uhlarik harassed Wetland and ``placed her in
reasonable fear for her safety.''
