Drivers can cash checks, pick up dry-cleaning and buy lunch without leaving their cars -- so why not get vaccinated against the flu?
The Central Kansas Medical Center on Saturday is planning a ``Stop. Shot. Go.'' clinic. Six nurses will be giving out 400 shots to drivers in their cars.
Infection control director Nancy Winkelman said drivers should simply roll down their window, sign a consent form, hand the nurse $20 and grit their teeth.
Center spokeswoman Jettie Zoller said the drive-thru shot clinic is aimed at taking the center's health care mission out into the community.
The center is planning a second clinic later this year for people who want to charge their flu shot to insurance.
