A Pawnee County jury has convicted a man of killing three people in 1998.
Jurors deliberated about an hour yesterday before finding 43-year-old Martin Vasquez-Arroyo guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Thomas Dinkel, Robin Vasquez and Howard Franks.
The victims' bodies were found in Vasquez's Kinsley home. All three had been shot in the head. Robin Vasquez was the defendant's wife. Her father was Howard Franks, and Dinkel was her boyfriend.
Vasquez-Arroyo is a Mexican national whose exodus to Mexico after the killings slowed prosecutors' efforts to try him.
Vasquez-Arroyo will be sentenced later. The killings occurred in Edwards County, but the trial was moved to Larned in adjacent Pawnee County.
