Wildcats make memories in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WIBW) - Bowl Week for Kansas State hasn't been all work. Some Wildcats went to an NBA game to compete against Navy in a skills contest. It's less about the competition and more about growing closer as a team.

Some Kansas State football players participated in a skills contest during an NBA game in Memphis.

Wyatt Hubert and Skylar Thompson represented the Wildcats against the Midshipmen. Thompson nailed a shot at the buzzer to give the Wildcats a win. For Thompson, this is a time to make memories off the field.

"Our whole life contains of football, you know?" Skylar Thompson said. "So getting out and being able to do things like this, just being around the guys, having fun and making memories, that's the most important part. I was actually really nervous, more so I feel like than on game days in front of 100,000 people. But that was a lot of fun. Cool opportunity for our guys to get out on the floor and throw some t-shirts and have some fun. That's what it's about."

K-State will kick off against Navy on Tuesday in the Autozone Liberty Bowl.
