Washburn women fall to No. 1 Fort Hays State, 59-51

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Three double-figure scorers was not enough for a 10th consecutive victory on Saturday as the Washburn women's basketball team fell to No. 3 Fort Hays State, 59-51, ending a season-best nine-game win streak.

The result also marked the Ichabods' first conference loss of the season, as it slipped to 6-1 in the MIAA and slid to 11-5 overall.

Taylor Blue led Washburn scorers with 14 points, including 10 in the second half, behind 5-for-13 shooting while stepping back and going 2-for-7 from three-point distance. Alexis McAfee finished with 11 while Nicole Murugarren chipped in with 10 while pulling down a team-high six rebounds.
