(WIBW) - Two Jayhawks and one Wildcat find themselves on the 2019 Preseason All-Big 12 Team. The league's media representatives are responsible for selecting it.
KU running back Pooka Williams and punter Kyle Thompson are representing the Jayhawks. Kansas State defensive lineman Reggie Walker is the honoree for the Wildcats.
Williams is rejoining the Jayhawks this week following a seven-month suspension stemming from a domestic battery charge. He is suspended for KU's regular-season opener against Indiana State on Aug. 31.
The sophomore star will try to follow up a breakout freshman campaign. The 2018 Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year rushed for 1,125 yards and seven touchdowns in his debut season.
Thompson led the Big 12 in yards per punt last season, averaging 43.3 yards. The league's coaches named him an All-Big 12 Second Team player following 2018.
Walker was a Second-Team All-Big 12 player in 2017. Last season, the senior racked up 35 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
He led the Big 12 in forced fumbles and with eight for his career, the Louisiana native is one shy of setting a K-State record. Walker also needs just two sacks to make the top ten in KSU history for career sacks.
