TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Just a couple days after the New York Giants made former Washburn star Corey Ballentine the highest draft pick in program history, another Ichabod standout is getting an NFL opportunity.
The Ichabods announced the Tennessee Titans have invited wide receiver James Brania-Hopp to their rookie minicamp this weekend. During his time with Washburn, he rose up the Washburn career receiving charts.
Brania-Hopp ranks sixth in program history for receiving yards (2,147), is tied for sixth for touchdown catches (16) and also ranks ninth for career receptions (123). During his senior season, he earned first team All-MIAA honors after leading the conference in receiving yards with 1,144 while also reeling in 62 receptions and nine touchdowns.
For his stellar final campaign, the wide receiver earned the team's Most Valuable Player and Ichabod Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2018.
