Sarah Thomas to be the first woman to officiate an NFL playoff game

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (CNN) -- For the first time ever, a woman will officiate an NFL playoff game.

On Sunday, Sarah Thomas, the NFL's first full-time female official will serve as a down judge during the AFC Divisional Playoff game.

The Los Angeles Chargers take on the New England Patriots at 12:05 p.m. in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on WIBW-TV.

Making history is nothing new for Thomas. She was also chosen as the first woman to officiate a college football bowl game.

This is her fourth season as an NFL official.
