Royals lend Chiefs fireworks for AFC Championship touchdowns

KANSAS CITY, MO (WIBW) -- If you recall the Chiefs vs. Texans game, the Chiefs ran out of fireworks. After the boom boom debacle, their neighbors, the Royals, have come to the rescue.

Late in the fourth quarter Sunday, the Chiefs announced and posted an apology for those attending the game, saying the traditional post-touchdown fireworks would not happen because they….ran out.

Former 580 WIBW Sportscaster Alex Gold captured this photo of the apology.

In a fun video posted to the Royals Facebook page, it shows Sluggerrr searching through a closet, finding their stash of unused fireworks, and giving them KC Wolf. The video was titled, “Always share with your neighbors.”
