MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Almost three weeks after thinking it had a defensive coordinator, Kansas State reportedly will be looking for another.

According to GoPowercat.com and multiple outlets, K-State defensive coordinator Ted Monachino is leaving the program to become an assistant for the Chicago Bears. Monachino was a senior defensive analyst with Missouri in 2018 before joining Chris Klieman's staff.

The veteran coach is no stranger to the pros though. Before joining Missouri, Monachino had spent 12 years in the NFL with the Colts, Ravens and Jaguars as a defensive coordinator and assistant.
