(WIBW) -- After withdrawing from the 2019 NBA Draft and entering the transfer portal, former Kansas guard Quentin Grimes has landed in Houston.

Grimes, a native of Texas, also visited Texas A&M before making his decision on Thursday.

At KU, Grimes started every game during his freshman season and averaged 8.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He finished second on the team with 54 3-pointers.

According to ESPN, Grimes is expected to apply for a waiver to be immediately eligible for the 2019-20 season.

If true, his application could be affected by the recent transfer guideline adjustments made by the NCAA Division I council on Wednesday.

Without a waiver, Grimes will sit next season and reclaim eligibility for the 2020-21 season.
