EVANSVILLE, Indiana (WIBW) -- For the second time in three years, the Northwest Missouri State men's basketball team captured the NCAA Division II national championship.

The Bearcats' 64-58 win over Point Loma also completed a perfect season at 38-0 for just the fifth time in men's DII history.

Joey Witthus led Northwest with 24 points, followed by Diego Bernard with 14 and former Manhattan High standout Trevor Hudgins with 12.

The national title is the 43rd overall team title for an MIAA school.
