LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) - Washburn head coach Brett Ballard's Allen Fieldhouse homecoming ended the same way most exhibition games do at Kansas.

The top-ranked Jayhawks got their 29th straight exhibition victory, beating the Ichabods 79-52. Three different KU players finished the night scoring in double figures: Dedric Lawson (18), Udoka Azubuike (17), Lagerald Vick (16).

Washburn was able to hang with KU for a while. After trailing by 14 at halftime, the Ichabods went on a 7-0 run to start the second half and trail by seven. Javion Blake led the team with 14 points.

But Kansas eventually took over. The Jayhawks outscored the Ichabods 44-24 over the final 18 minutes of the game.

Kansas will open up the regular season on Nov. 6 against No. 10 Michigan State in the Champions Classic in Indianapolis. Washburn starts off on the road vs. Oklahoma Baptist University on Nov. 9.
