(WIBW) - Emporia State quarterback Braxton Marstall is one of nine national finalists for the Harlon Hill Trophy. It goes to Division II's College Football Player of the Year.
The Hornet senior is the MIAA Offensive Player of the year after leading the conference in total offense, passing offense, passing TDs, points responsible for, completions and completion percentage this season. Marstall has thrown for 2,734 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding 402 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
The Emporia native has left his mark on his hometown program. He is the Hornets' all-time leader in passing yards and total offense, while ranking second in passing touchdowns with one game left to play.
Emporia State will next take on Arkansas-Monticello in the Corsicana Bowl on Dec. 1.
The Harlon Hill award winner will be announced on Dec. 14.
