KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - Patrick Mahomes was met with thunderous cheers as he came down the escalator at Kansas Medical Center.
"I wasn't expecting that," the NFL's passing touchdown leader said with a laugh.
Accompanied by teammates Chad Henne and Chase Litton, Mahomes visited patients at the hospital on Tuesday, signing autographs and interacting with those who are fighting cancer.
"You see the determination and the fight these people have," Mahomes said. "That's stuff you can look up to and it inspires you. You know these people are laying it on the line every single day.
"And it helps me knowing I can just go in and do what I have to do and play good games to pick up their spirits, anything I can do."
