TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - On National Signing Day, several high school stars made their intentions official with where they'll play collegiate football. Around Northeast Kansas, a few of them will play Division-I football.
Topeka High's Ky Thomas signs to play football with the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Topeka High's Ky Thomas signed with Minnesota. Thomas ran for over 7,000 career yards and 93 touchdowns. He is the all-time leading high school rusher in the City of Topeka. He was the 25th-ranked running back in the country according to 247Sports
Emporia High's Hayden Pauls signed with Iowa State. Pauls was an All-State selection and was ranked as the 55th-best offensive tackle nationally by 247Sports.
Manhattan High's Sam Shields will stay home and play at Kansas State. Shields was rated as one of the top 15 interior linemen in Kansas.
Wamego's Isiah Childs will play football at the University of Akron.
