WACO, Tx. (WIBW) - After winning back-to-back games for the first time since 2011, Kansas football got back to a familiar feeling on Saturday.
Baylor controlled most of the action against the Jayhawks, handing KU a 26-7 loss in its Big 12 opener. Kansas has not won a Big 12 road game since Oct. 4, 2008.
The Bears jumped out on Kansas, leading 23-0 at halftime. Quarterback Charlie Brewer threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns.
David Beaty's offense couldn't get anything going. All three of his quarterbacks saw playing time, with Peyton Bender throwing for the most yards at 105. But the team couldn't sustain drives, getting just four third down conversions in 13 attempts.
Kansas will host No. 15 Oklahoma State next on Sept. 29.
