No. 1 Kansas cruises past Emporia State 93-55 in first exhibition game

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansas opened exhibition play against Emporia State Thursday night with a 93-55 win over the Hornets.

The first-ranked Jayhawks were led by redshirt junior transfer Dedric Lawson, who made his KU debut with a double-double: 31 points and 15 rebounds.

Lawson also shot 68 percent from the field.

The Hornets were led by Hassan Thomas with 17 points and five steals, while Sawyer Glick added 14 points.

Emporia State was within 21 points with five minutes left, but Kansas closed out the game with a 10-0 run.
