(WIBW) -- Tuesday marked Kansas' and Kansas State's travel day as both teams shipped out to western states for their first round matchups in the NCAA Tournament.
The four-seed Jayhawks flew to Salt Lake City where their preparation process will begin with an open practice on Wednesday.
KU plays No. 13 Northeastern on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT on TNT.
No. 4 K-State flew to San Jose, Calif., and the Wildcats will have two days to prepare for their matchup against No. 13 UC-Irvine on Friday at 1 p.m. on TBS.
Before takeoff, head coach Bruce Weber said senior forward Dean Wade "has made some progress" but is still doubtful to play in the tournament.
