KBCA names Carly Bachelor Miss Kansas Basketball

After leading Washburn Rural to a state championship, Carly Bachelor has earned a prestigious honor for her standout senior season.

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association named Bachelor Miss Kansas Basketball. The Creighton-bound star will be honored in a ceremony on June 22 in Salina.

After averaging 19.4 points and 9.5 rebounds for her senior season, Bachelor leaves the Junior Blues as their all-time leading scorer and rebounder.

Bachelor will also play in the organization's All-Star Game on the 22 under her high school coach, Kevin Bordewick. Other area players participating in it are Rural Vista’s Lauren Campuzano, Nemaha Central’s Jacy Dalinghaus, Frankfort’s Emilee Ebert, Baldwin’s Macey Frost, Wabaunsee’s Abby Oliver, Manhattan’s Kia Wilson and Burlington’s Kirsten Young for the girls, while Washburn Rural's Jordan White, Seaman's Trey Duffey, Santa Fe Trail's John Long and Chapman's Izek Jackson will participate for the boys.
