K-State to face No. 21 Navy in Liberty Bowl

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas State is officially back in a bowl.

The Wildcats will take on No. 21 Navy in the Liberty Bowl. That will be played in Memphis on December 31st at 2:45 p.m.

This will be the first time in program history Kansas State will play Navy. The Midshipmen finished the season 9-2 overall. The Wildcats will play in this bowl game for the second time in program history. K-State lost the 2015 Liberty Bowl against Arkansas, 45-23.

K-State returns to bowl action with an 8-4 record in Chris Klieman's first year as head coach. Klieman's eight wins are the most for a first-year head coach in program history. Kansas State had an eight-year bowl appearance streak snapped in 2018, as Bill Snyder's final season ended with a record of 5-7.
