(WIBW) - A road win against a team from the SEC to move to 3-0 is enough to get Chris Klieman and Kansas State into the rankings.
A panel of FBS head coaches have the Wildcats at No. 25 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll. This is the first time K-State has appeared in a national ranking since Sept. 10, 2017.
KSU finds itself one spot outside of the Associated Press Top 25, receiving 91 votes, the most for any unranked team in the nation.
Kansas State is coming off of a 31-24 road win over Mississippi State to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2015. That was the Wildcats' first road victory over a non-conference opponent from a Power Five conference since 2011.
It also marked the program's first regular-season win over a SEC team since 1982. This came after dominant wins over Nicholls (49-14) and Bowling Green (52-0).
