Washburn men, women sweep Lincoln for second place in MIAA

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (WIBW) -- Both the Washburn men's and women's basketball teams notched wins over Lincoln on Saturday and now sit in second place in their respective MIAA standings.

The men picked up a 75-70 win despite falling behind 15-3 at the start of the game.

Devyn Wilson led the Ichabods with 18 points, followed by David Salach and Tyler Geiman with 13 points each.

Javion Blake also moved past Will McNeill for third all-time on the Washburn scoring chart.

As for the women, the win came out to 80-70 and vaulted the ladies back into second in the conference.

The Ichabods were paced by 10 three-pointers and Reagan Phelan with 19 points. Taylor Blue also notched 19 points followed by Alexis McAfee with 16 and Hunter Bentley with 14.

Phelan moved into ninth in the Washburn record book for career threes made with 117.

Next up for both teams is Northeast Missouri State in Lee Arena on Thursday.
