TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- On Thursday, Sanetra Jackson was approved by the Topeka Unified School District 501 board to become the new head coach of the Highland Park Lady Scots' girl's basketball team.

Jackson has experience at the high school level, having coached as an assistant for two years at Northeast Academy in Oklahoma City.

She comes to Topeka after spending five years as an assistant coach at the University of the Southwest in New Mexico.

Jackson takes over at the helm for the Lady Scots after the resignation of Mike Calhoun.

Calhoun resigned after six years with the program, including back-to-back winning seasons.
