TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Highland Park boys basketball team is now searching for its first win again.
According to Topeka Public Schools director of communications Misty Kruger, the KSHSAA recently told Highland Park that an ineligible player had played for the team this season.
"At the time of the notification from KSHSAA, Highland Park High School's season was underway and their team had accumulated a victory that will have to be forfeited," Kruger said in an email.
The Scots had one win for the year, a 60-56 victory over Topeka West. The forfeiture of the victory puts them at 0-9 for the season, while the Chargers move to 2-4.
According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, that game was the only one the ineligible player participated in for the Scots.
