Former Washburn star Jemi Johnson passes away

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Former Washburn All-American men's basketball player Jemi Johnson passed away Friday evening, the school confirmed to 13 News.

Johnson played for the Ichabods from 1992-95, and is still 14th in the program's all-time career scoring list with 1,215 points.

He averaged 13.1 points per game over his career, helping Washburn reach the NCAA Tournament three years straight.
