(WIBW) - If you're planning your college football weekends in Kansas, you now have something more to work with for the opening weeks of the upcoming season.
Kansas State received its first three start times while Kansas received its first two of the 2019 campaign on Thursday. The Jayhawks already knew their third game at Boston College on Sept. 13, a Friday, would start at 6:30 p.m and be televised on ACC Network.
For K-State, the Chris Klieman era will begin at home against Nicholls State on Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. It can also be seen on ESPN+. Kansas State has never faced the Colonels before. In last season's opener, Nicholls State upset Kansas 26-23 in overtime in Lawrence.
K-State then hosts Bowling Green the next week on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 1997. That game will be televised on Fox Sports Network.
The final schedule announcement comes with the first road trip of the season for the Wildcats. They will travel to Mississippi State on Sept. 14 for an 11 a.m. kickoff. ESPN or ESPN2 will have the TV broadcast. Last season, the Bulldogs routed K-State in Manhattan 31-10.
As for Kansas, Les Miles begins his Jayhawk career at home against Indiana State on Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. That game can be seen on Fox Sports Network. KU hasn't faced the Sycamores since 1985.
Kansas will stay in Lawrence to host Coastal Carolina on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. ESPN+ will carry the broadcast. The two programs have never met before.
