ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (WIBW) -- The Emporia State men's basketball team overcame a ten-point deficit with under nine minutes left to pull out an 85-79 win at Missouri Western on Sunday.
The Hornets scored the first five points of the game but trailed 40-39 heading into the locker room at halftime.
Over the first seven minutes of the second half, neither team took more than a three-point lead.
ESU pulled off the win after hitting five of six free throws in the final 22 seconds.
Justin Washington led the Hornets with career highs of 24 points and 17 rebounds. He was joined in double figures by Malik Hluchowecyj with 16 points, Sawyer Glick with 15 points and Kooper Glick with 12 points.
