ESU women triumph while men falter on Senior Day

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Emporia State women's basketball team notched a 76-56 win over Missouri Southern on Senior Day, while the men's team's second-half comeback fell short.

Both teams recognized seven seniors each.

The women scored four players in double figures led by Addie Lackey with 16 and joined by Jessica Wayne with 12, Morgan Laudan with 11 and Tyra Jones with 10.

The men's game ended in bittersweet fashion with a 91-82 loss. The Hornets were led by Hassan Thomas with 17 points, Kooper Glick with 16 and Julius Jackson with 10.

Both teams are back in action on Thursday at Northeastern State.
