LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) - KU men's basketball announced the addition of a new point guard on Thursday, but fans won't see him on the court for the upcoming season.
The Jayhawks welcomed freshman Dajuan Harris, who will redshirt for the 2019-20 season. Harris was a four-star recruit coming out of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
“Dajuan is a true point guard,” KU head coach Bill Self said in a release. “His understanding and feel for the game would rival some of the better point guards we’ve had since we’ve been here.”
Harris left Rock Bridge as the program's all-time leader in assists and steals. 247Sports rated him as the seventh-best point guard in the nation for the class of 2019.
“We are very excited to have Dajuan,” Self said. “He’s going to be in a limited capacity and this will give him the opportunities to focus on books, focus on getting stronger and put himself in the position to be a contributor right off the bat next year.”
