Chiefs' De'Anthony Thomas arrested for suspicion of marijuana possession

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) -- According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession Saturday.

Thomas was released on bond on Sunday, but has not yet released an official statement.. He has been active on social media as of Sunday afternoon.

The Kansas City Chiefs said they were aware of the incident but offered no comment.

Thomas played in five games this season for the Chiefs before breaking his leg in practice and being placed on injured reserve in October. He finished 2018 with three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. Thomas broke the same leg in December 2017.

Thomas signed a one-year deal before the 2018 season and is set to be an unrestricted free agent.
