(WIBW) - Patrick Mahomes has shown he can go through the legs, behind the back and even throw no-look passes.

Oh yeah, he does that in basketball too.

But after a video went viral of the NFL MVP balling in a gym pickup game, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is trying to guard Mahomes and put an end to his quarterback's hoops hobby.

“You’re breaking a lot of ankles out there, just make sure you’re not breaking your own,” Veach said on a teleconference of what he told Mahomes.

The Kansas City GM said he kept the conversation lighthearted and praised the Offensive Player of the Year's competitiveness. But that doesn't mean he wasn't immediately concerned.

“As soon as I saw it, it probably took me about 2 seconds to call his agent and tell him that was a big no-no,” Veach told Soren Petro of WHB (810 AM) on Thursday. “The Kingdom can rest assure that we have that under control: no more basketball for Pat.”
